Winter is the time of the year where the difference between Berlin and Montreal is striking. Temperatures here are barely below zero and there is hardly any snow which is very different from the home we left in Canada. During our time there we became lovers of winter sport, and I enjoyed the typical color pattern of bleu – blanc – rouge representing this season for me.
Our place to have snow like we were used to (or at least some) is in the very south of Germany, the northern part of the Alps. We have been spent the winter school break there already several times and appreciate now the familiarity of the location. Knowing that a typical ski day would allow for photowalks in the mountains I also brought a camera.
I went to a place that I had spoted last year and started on a small hill with a few deserted trees. On the way up the mountains there are hay barns all over the place.
